As a whole, whoever sins, then sins remove away the blessings from the Deen and the Dunyaa, so that he won’t find any blessings in his age [Life full of suffering and illnesses.], his religious affairs [Less good deeds.] and his worldly affairs [A person may have much wealth, but he may have a problem with his wife, children or the society abhors him etc.]. Ibn al-Qayyim [al-Jawaab al-Kaafi (1/84)]

Ibn al-Qayyim [al-Jawaab al-Kaafi (1/84)]
- Repel the thought, for if you don't, it becomes an idea. So repel the idea, for if you don't it will become a desire. So fight against that(desire), for if you don't, it will become a determination and a passion. And if you don't repel that, it will become an action. And if you don't replace it with its opposite, it will become a constant habit. So at that point, it will be difficult for you to change it....
- There are three dangers which may prevent you from examining yourself and taking account of your acts.
- The first of these dangers is heedlessness.
- The second is the flood of tastes and desires that gush from your ego, your lower self.
- The third is bad habits, in fact all habits, which make one like a machine.
The one who can protect himself against these three dangers, with Allah's help, will find salvation in both worlds...
